Bruce Ramus - Creative Director, Ramus Illumination

Bruce will talk about how media and moving images has evolved over the last 16 years in live entertainment, specifically the last four U2 tours. Showing images that illustrating the technology, the methodology and design philosophy. He will discuss the theories and practical considerations behind the designs and address what has be learned about the benefits and disadvantages of large-scale media installations, in a live music environment. The images shown are from the following projects; 1993 ZOOTV (First time large-scale moving images onstage - Media Barrage); 1997 PopMart (First LED screen); 2001 Elevation (Deployable Media, LED, Large Format PiGi Projectors); 2004 Vertigo (Deployable LED curtains, 360 degree pixels...Indoor and Outdoor...curved video tile and 2009 current projects (Vancouver Olympics, Victorian Arts Centre).
